Shocked? Well trust us, when we heard about it, we took time to wrap our heads around it too. The fact that two beautiful divas will come together was enough to make us go crazy but then we had to hit pause right there. So the thing is Priyanka Chopra will be producing a sitcom on Madhuri Dixit‘s life in US which has the latter and her husband in the position of Executive producers.
Yes, that’s true. And guess what? It will be a comedy series. Speaking about it, Priyanka Chopra told Mumbai Mirror from New York, “One of the favourite parts of my job as an actress-producer is that I can tell stories across genres, languages and to a varied audience. The story needs to appeal to me and impress me and what better than the incredible, real life of Madhuri Dixit. It’s unchartered territory for me but I’m happy I’ve taken another step in my creative journey as a producer.” She is excited to work with Madhuri and her husband Sriram Nene. Talking about the concept which is about a Bollywood star who settles down after marriage in the US, she said, “It’s a fun concept and will be shot as a single-camera sitcom which will blend comedic and dramatic elements. I’ve only just begun developing the pilot but am rolling up my sleeves and getting to work.”
This is American screenwriter Sri Rao’s brainchild who had previously written What Goes On, General Gospital: Night Shift and Baar Baar Dekho. He wrote the show and took it to PC. Thus, the series took shape. “Sri is fabulous and this is his series, I’m only shepherding it,” PC exclaims. The pilot will get canned next month. The show is co-produced by ABC Studios, Mark Gordan and Nick Pepper.
