The actor is finally out, but here is a look back at his entire jail term over the years…

As Sanjay Dutt walks out of Yerwada Jail today, the actor completes a total of 814 days inside the jail out of the 1240 days he was supposed to spend inside. The Munnabhai actor has been out for 132 days (42 days of furlough and 60 days of parole) to attend to his wife’s health, daughter’s nose surgery amongst various other reasons. His release was also advanced due to a remittance of 294 days (he got remission of 7 days per month for good behaviour and extra-curricular activities like running a radio station inside the jail, so in 42 months, 7*42 = 294 days got reduced there). But when did the jail term start and what happened in between?

On March 12, 1993 a series of explosions took place across Bombay, that killed over 350 people. A few days later, one of the most popular Bollywood stars, Sanjay Dutt, was arrested for illegal possession of arms and ammunition like a 9mm pistol and an AK-56 assault rifle, which were used in 1993 Bombay Terror Attacks. Post this he fought his case time and again, he came in and out of jail many times too. So, we came up with this timeline that will help give you a better understanding of his jail term and parole period.
