Ragini Khanna became popular for her roles in Bhaskar Bharti and Sasural Genda Phool. She made us laugh, cry and fall in love with her character on the shows. But the actress has absolutely no interest in venturing into comedy. In fact, she will be a part of a thriller film, Gurgaon, which releases on 4th August, 2017. Ragini surely shocked a lot of people by taking up this film since we were so used to seeing her as a chirpy, funny girl on television. The actress, in an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, revealed why she would never want to do comedy or be a part of Krushna Abhishek’s The Drama Company. Ragini maintained that she would like to focus on doing films for a while and is not too keen to doing a TV show. But that’s not why she doesn’t want to work in Krushna’s show.
She says, “I have received those kind of opportunities because people think I have a good comic timing. But I don’t think I have the stand up comedian in me. I can’t be the person who stands in front of the mic, cracks a joke and makes hundreds of people laugh. That’s something Krushna excels in and I should let him be with that.” The actress also added that she would never want to do something like this and that she feels she is incapacitated to do it. Everyone who loved watching her in Bhaskar Bharti and Sasural Genda Phool will definitely not agree to Ragini’s statement since she did make us laugh with her roles in both the shows. Though we do agree that stand up comedy is not everyone’s cup of tea. Ragini also told us how excited she is about Gurgaon since the audience will see her in a different avatar, that is nowhere close to Suhana. She also opened up about nepotism in Bollywood and how she is totally against it. Coming back to Ragini not wanting to be a part of The Drama Company, what are your thoughts on it?
