Pratyusha Banerjee, Jiah Khan, Nafisa Joseph – TV celebs who died young

The death of Pratyusha Banerjee last year on April 1 sent shock-waves across the industry. The actress loved as Anandi by millions all over India killed herself after a turbulent relationship. A number of controversies surrounded her death. However, she was not the only one to end her life so tragically in her prime. Here is a look at other celebs who died an untimely death…

Pratyusha Banerjee, 24 
Only 24, the girl from Jamshedpur ended her life on April 1, 2016 at her Goregaon residence. She made her way into the hearts of millions as Anandi from Balika Vadhu. The drastic step was taken apparently after a nasty fight with boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh. He found her hanging in the room and took her to the Kokilaben Hospital, where she was declared dead.

 

Jiah Khan, 25 
The lovely tresses and charismatic persona charmed everyone in Nishabd. After a debut in the rather unconventional film, she followed it up with Ghajini and Housefull with Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. Like Pratyusha, she also ended her life hanging herself from her Juhu flat. Her suicide note mentioned a rather abusive relationship with Sooraj Pancholi. She died in June, 2013.

Viveka Babajee, 37 
In 2010, we got a shock when we heard that model Viveka Babajee who was famous for her KamaSutra condoms ads had ended her life. Born in Mauritius, Viveka had a successful career as a model. She also ended her life hanging herself from her Mumbai flat. The police said she died due to depression caused by failure in business and a turbulent relationship. She was dating businessman Gautam Vohra but things weren’t going on great between them. Viveka ransacked her house before killing herself.

Kuljeet Randhawa, 30
Everyone was stunned when Kuljeet ended her life stating that she was unable to cope up with life. She had acted in C.A.T.S a desi version of Charlie’s Angels and also Special Squad. Kuljeet was also a Gladrags model.

Nafisa Joseph, 26
As per reports, it was deceit in love that resulted in Nafisa Joseph ending her life on 29 July, 2004. The former Miss India was in a relationship with Gautam Khanduja and was to marry him. However, the wedding got called off as she discovered that he was already married and had not divorced his wife. Nafisa was loved as a jockey on MTV and was also a part of C.A.T.S like Kuljeet. There are many similarities in Viveka and her cases.
