One of the most talented actresses, Kalki Koechlin aces the niche genre films with sheer precision. Kalki is known to take up different and daring movies and make sure she gives her all in the movies she does. When the trailer of Waiting, that also stars Naseeruddin Shah came out, we were in for a surprise. Both Kalki and Naseer are known for their talent as actors so obviously when two powerful actors come together for a film, we are bound to be more than curious as to what they are giving us. Same way, the trailer further fueled anticipation in us and we waited to learn what the film is about.

We see a new Kalki in the film, one who has curly locks, coal in her eyes, darker shade of hair, sharp eyebrows and a lot more. Usually coming from a different look altogether, was a package of surprise as she looked refreshing yet devastated. Quite a paradoxical situation. She credited her entire look to her director, Anu Menon as she said, “That was very much Anu Menon’s idea to put coal in my eyes and do the eyebrows very very sharp. The hair was darker than my usual hair. We wanted her to feel very earthy and desi so she (Anu Menon) really came up with that. And of course I curled my hair, I tonged it. She (Anu Menon) wanted to have a very pretty, young, you know Bombay girl and I think I’m glad that it’s very different from what I’ve done before.”
