Pratyusha Banerjee suicide: Anuj Sachdeva CLEARS the air

The actor who was her neighbour states the facts amidst speculations

She was young, beautiful, talented and an established name. The suicide of Pratyusha Banerjee has sent shockwaves across the industry and has once again, highlighted the fragility of human life in today’s stressful times. One of the individuals who is shaken  at the news is actor Anuj Sachdeva. The Love Shagun star was her neighbour. When BollywoodLife got in touch with him, he said, “I am her neighbour. We live on the same floor. Yesterday I had heard her crying in her living room around 12.30 when I was going to drop my house-help off to the station. For a split second, I thought of checking on her but then I did not know Rahul or her personally so I thought it would be intrusive. I had heard about their fights from my domestic help an earlier occasion as well. I was not very close to her. Our friendship was limited to a hi and hello. This was, perhaps why I did not question her about her personal life. I thought it would be improper to barge into her personal space. After all, every couple have arguments. And they looked happy otherwise.”

The actor refutes reports that he spoke to her on the fateful day and says that she did not confide in him that Rahul was cheating on her in the lift. “It is false. When I returned home at night I came to know that she had ended her life,” he says.

Anuj reveals that he is shocked that she would commit suicide over a failed relationship. “I did hear about their fights but did not understand that it would lead to this. I had never seen them fighting, only heard about it from people in the building. Now, when I look back, I feel perhaps my ringing the bell two could have made a difference. I will regret this. If she had once spoken to me, I would have surely helped her out. This is extremely distressing, depressing and painful for me.”
