Shah Rukh Khan slapped with Rs 5.59 lakh notice by Varanasi Police

Recently in order to promote his film Jab Harry Met Sejal, Shah Rukh Khan visited world’s oldest city, Varanasi. Joined him at the promotional event was Bhojpuri superstar, Manoj Tiwari. Shah Rukh Khan brought the house down with his wit and charm and even sang the regional chartbuster, Lolipop Lagelu for Anushka Sharma. He also feast upon the benarasi paan and it was such a rage that the shop owner decided to name it after him. The trip was quite successful and Shah Rukh created huge noise. But Varanasi police acted as the villain in the tale. According to a report by DNA after hrs, Varanasi police have slapped a recovery notice of Rs 5.59 lakh on Shah Rukh Khan for using police security during the Jab Harry Met Sejal promotional event. Shah Rukh Khan was joined by film’s lead Anushka Sharma, director Imtiaz Ali and Bhojpuri Superstar and BJP MP, Manoj Tiwari.

According to the report, police had deployed close to 224 personnel in their security. The SSP R.K Bhardwaj said that the organizers Ashoka Institute of Technology and Management had deposited only Rs 51,132 and the salary of the total police officers deployed was Rs 6.11 lakhs. The organiser of the event, Ankit Maurya said, “We have requested the police department to recover the remaining amount from Shah Rukh Khan and his team for providing them security for their other program in the city.” He claims that there programme was for only an hour and they have already paid Rs 51,132 as told by the department.

He clarified, “Majority of the police personnel deployed from the airport to Shah Rukh Khan’s private programs and his visit to ghats and other places in Varanasi.” He also said that only a few police personnel were deployed in the institute campus which is already at a secured place. If you remember, last time, during the promotions of Raees, Shah Rukh Khan had travelled through train and had found himself in a legal trouble, this time there’s another. We just hope the issue is solved at the earliest.
