Varun Dhawan announces next project with Shoojit Sircar, titled October

This is like a dream come true for Varun Dhawan who has bagged his next film which is going to be directed by Shoojit Sircar. Shoojit has initially given us some brilliant movies like Piku and Pink and now, he is all set to cast Varun in his next film titled October. Varun, who is more than overwhelmed to have taken up this project took to Instagram to make the big announcement. “I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit da’s work and have always wanted to work with him. The film is titled October. Soojit da Ronnie and Juhi have always made good cinema Im very lucky to get a chance to work with them,” Varun captioned a picture he’s shared on Insta with the ace film maker.

Ever since Varun made his Bollywood debut with Student of The Year (2012), he has been wanting to work with the Piku filmmaker. In an interview with HT, Varun said, “I am definitely very happy and excited. What’s amazing about him is that he is very sure about his vision. I have met him just now, so I am trying to get into that world, understand it. and the way the film is going to breathe and feel. Talking about October, Shoojit has said, “It’s again an out-of-the-box kind of story. we started working on this film’s idea, which came from a small newspaper clipping, right before Piku (2015).” He further described it as “a very unusual, unconventional kind of a story” in the “slice-of-life and romance space”.

The film is all set to go on floors in October and it’s going to be shot in Delhi. The makers are planning to release the film around March – April next year but no release date is yet to be finalised. As for now, Varun is working on Judwaa 2.
