Don’t expect Dhanush to bulk up anytime soon or anytime at all. The actor has stated a strict no for making his body undergo all those changes! But, his reason is so sound and apt that we’re actually quite proud of his decision. During a press interaction, the actor was literally bombarded with a lot of questions, many circulating around his Bollywood career. Since he sort of disappeared after Shamitabh and was quite picky about his films after Ranjhanaa, we asked him why he is so particular about his Hindi films. To this he was quoted as saying, You can see me. I have a very unique way of looking. So I have to choose my roles very carefully. I know my strengths but I also know my weaknesses. So I have to wait for the right script where I can see myself. I’m waiting for the right script to do justice to the film and box office as well.”
However, one journo instantly asked him should he take any cues from Prabhas and bulk up for his roles. To this, Dhanush instantly said, “No this is my strength. (Gestures at his body) I’m really serious. If you step out on the road, you’ll see hundred people like me, walking. They all related with me. I’m their representative.” When he said, “I’m their representative,” he actually beamed in pride as it was evident on his face. He isn’t the conventional looking actor that Bollywood seeks for but he most certainly is quite an enigma.

We’ll be seeing him next in VIP 2, Vellai Ila Patathari 2 along with Kajol and Amala Paul. The movie has been directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and is co-written by Dhanush himself. This time, the actor is in loggerheads with a corporate honcho, Vasundra Parmeshwaran, played by Kajol. During the interview, Dhanush revealed how they managed to convince the actress to a South film, after leaving the line for 20 years. He said, “Once I finished writing Vasundra, I was wondering, somebody like Kajol ma’am. So we were thinking of somebody like Kajol and one day I was like, why not her? We were aware that for the last 20 years she has not done any films in any other language. So it might be close to impossible to get her onboard. But then I said let’s give it a shot. Let’s try. So you see how important it is to try (everybody laughs). We asked for an appointment and she was very sweet to meet us. We narrated the script to her. Based on purely the merit of the script, she decided to do it. We are glad that she decided to do the film because I don’t think anybody could have pulled off Vasundra.”
The film will release next month. Stay tuned to this space for hot scoop and latest updates.
