Sarbjit box office collection: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda's film collects Rs 3.69 crore on day 1!

And the first day box office figures are out….

Omung Kumar’s Sarbjit starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda and Richa Chadda which hit the screens yesterday seems to be getting quite positive response from the critics as well as the audiences. The film which is based on the real life story of an Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh who had accidentally entered Pakistan and  was convicted of terrorism and spying. His death sentence was carried without proper investigation, eventually leading to his death following a tortuous attack by his inmates in a jail in Lahore. Definitely a story that’s worth narrating on the big screen, which we believe is exactly why the film has opened to decent numbers on Day 1. Yes!

Trade analyst and film critic just tweeted the box office figures of Sarbjit stating, “#Sarbjit Fri ₹ 3.69 cr. India biz… Had better occupancy in evening/night shows.” Not to forget, Randeep as Sarabjit and Ash as his sister Dalbir Kaur’s performances is being immensely appreciated. Both the actors have pushed the limit in terms of getting into the skin of the character and everyone who has watched the film has left the theatres with a heavy heart.

However, having said that, we also cannot ignore the fact that this heart wrenching biopic has released alongside one of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, X-Men Apocalypse which is equally faring well at the box office.
