The trend of remixing old classics has taken the Bollywood music industry by storm. We have already heard the recreated versions of iconic songs like, ‘Humma Humma’ (Ok Jaanu), ‘Laila o Laila’ (Raees), ‘Saara Zamaana’ (Kaabil), ‘Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le’ (Dear Zindagi) and ‘Tamma Tamma’ (Badrinath Ki Dulhania) and it seems the trend is not stopping anytime soon. The latest one to be remixed is Deewar’s (1975) much-loved song ‘Keh Doon Tumhein’, which was originally picturised on Shashi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.
According to a report in Bombay Times, Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta will be now seen grooving on the ‘reprised’ version of the hit retro song in their upcoming film ‘Baadshaho‘, which is set against the backdrop of the Emergency. The original one was sung by Late Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle. It’s not yet known whether they will be tweaking the same song or will get it sung by the young music artists all over again.
‘Keh Doon Tumhein’ is quite a popular song and finds a place in most people’s playlist, even today. It will be interesting to see whether they will be able to win our hearts with the new track or not. Emraan has a track record of hit songs and you never know, this song too might turn out to be a chartbuster. Emraan and Esha were last seen together in a music video – ‘Bas Itna Hai Tumse Kehna’. Apart from the melodious tunes of the song, it was their chemistry that won people’s hearts. We hope that they will manage to recreate the same magic with this Baadshaho song.
Also starring Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Sanjay Mishra, ‘Baadshaho’ is set to hit the theatres on September 1.
