Jai Gangaajal box office: Priyanka Chopra starrer rakes 11.75 cr in two days!

The film’s earnings slowly rise…

Priyanka Chopra and Prakash Jha starrer Jai Gangaajal may have had a slow start on it’s first day but it has managed to pick up the pace on second day. The movie, which is a sequel of Ajay Devgn starrer Gangaajal released on Friday i.e. 4th March and even without any major clashes, hasn’t been able to mint good collections at the box office. This is not the first time that Priyanka has donned the role of a tough cop. In fact, her Hollywood television show, Quantico, she plays the role of an FBI agent who has been framed for a series of bomb blasts. Well, the actress’ FBI avatar has been raved about but looks like her Abha Mathur avatar hasn’t gone down well with the audience.

The reviews of the film Jai Gangaajal haven’t been very outstanding as well. The film on it’s first day raked 5.50 cr that beat Sonam Kapoor’s film Neerja however it couldn’t surpass Akshay Kumar’s Airlift’s collection that stood at Rs. 12.35 cr on day one. The second day earnings of the film stood at 6.25 cr making a total of 11.75 cr for first two days in India. Turns out Jai Gangaajal actually opened in about 2600 multiplexes with the only competition being Vicky Kaushal and Sarah Jane Dias’ Zubaan. But the film hasn’t been able to grasp the attention of the audience! While some crowd has lauded the Prakash Jha film, a lot of them have trashed it calling it predictable. Even though the film has Priyanka Chopra in the lead, the essence of cliche was felt a lot by movie goers!
