Kartik Aaryan-Paresh Rawal’s Atithii iin London release date postponed to June 2

Ajay Devgn and Konkona Sen Sharma’s Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge fared averagely at the box office, back in 2010. It was only after its runs on TV that people found it to be hilarious and started loving it. The Ashiwini Dhir directorial eventually gained a cult following. No wonder, it is being followed with a sequel titled Atithii iin London. But we might have to wait a little longer for the comedy to hit the theaters, as the release date has been pushed back by a month.

Atithii iin London stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Kharbanda in lead roles, while Paresh Rawal returns as the annoying guest.  Tanvi Azmi has joins the cast as annoying guest number 2, reportedly playing Paresh’s wife. Initial reports suggested that the movie will be released in May 5. But from what we hear the latest, it is now slated to release on June 2. We wonder what is the reason for this postponement!

The movie has had a trouble getting over some roadblocks, since the beginning, whether it was the average success of the first film, or trouble in finding a leading lady. If you don’t know it was earlier Lisa Haydon who was supposed to play the female lead. But ten days before the commencement of the shoot, she stepped out of the project -leaving makers in a soup in the process. Kriti was brought on board last minute. Now that we hear about a new release date, it worries us. We hope it is merely a creative decision, and not an outcome of another trouble.

Atithii iin London also stars Sanjay Mishra in a key role. It is written and directed by Ashwni Dhir. Produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, the movie has a chance of having a cameo by Ajay Devgn. Yep. As per a report by a daily, a source associated to the film revealed, “He is expected to be part of the film’s climax that will be shot sometime in February, over three days. The makers have planned to shoot the portion in New York on ground zero.” More the reason to wait for the film.
