Indira Gandhi is an inspiration for many in this country. She was eloquent, supremely loved and has cared for this nation during her tenure. For a character, who has governed the largest democracy in the world, you need an equally strong actress and that makes Kangana perfect for this role.

Irom Sharmila

Again, resembling Manipur’s favourite daughter, Irom Sharmila, won’t be too difficult for the feisty Kangy. But it is the many shades of her character that will suit Kangana more. The latter likes to be methodical in her approach and this biopic will give her a lot of scope for that. Sharmila fasted for 16 years to protest against the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958. She was all of 28 when she took this oath and called it off in 2016. Kangana can do a fab job at it because her screen persona has that charisma to portray this character perfectly. Mamta Banerjee

You are aware how West Bengal’s CM loves to speak her mind. She has never minced words and Kangana is infamous for that too. They way she slammed Karan Johar on his own show and later during an interview, proves she believes in saying what she is feeling, without caring two hoots about anyone. Also, Mamta Banerjee has created history by becoming the first woman to hold that post in West Bengal when she became the Chief Minister. She broke stereotypes same as Kangana Ranaut. Need we say more?

Fearless Nadia

You would say the actress played something similar in Rangoon. Yes, her character of Julia had traces of Fearless Nadia in it but it wasn’t her story. Since Kangana has already proved she is perfect for the role, we think a biopic on this yesteryear actress should be made with the Rangoon actress in the lead. Again, Fearless Nadia,too, had shattered many stereotypes. She was the only actress who acted in films in those days and it was her who used to do all the punching and kicking. Such an adrenaline rush!

Amrita Pritam

All people can talk about Amrita Pritam is her love story with lyricist and poet, Sahir Ludhiyanvi. But Pritam was much more than that. Apart from being a mesmerising poet, she was also supremely elegant and chic. Kangana, as Amrita, will be a refreshing change. She has that charm in her to play a poetess of the bygone era.
