After ABCD 2 and Dilwale, Badrinath Ki Dulhania becomes Varun Dhawan’s third Rs 100 crore film

Ever since he debuted in Student Of The Year, Varun Dhawan has entertained us time and again. From Badlapur and ABCD 2 to Dilwale and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, we have seen him deliver some fantastic performances. But that’s not it. The actor has proved his mettle at the box office too. Varun has not had a single flop till now. All his films have worked at the box office and while you might not see the actor rake in huge numbers, no one can take away the fact that he has been consistent. And with Badrinath Ki Dulhania, he has delivered yet another hit. In fact, after Badrinath Ki Dulhania crossed the Rs 100 crore mark today, it is now his third 100-crore movie.

His two releases in 2015 – ABCD 2 (Rs 105.74 crore) and Dilwale (Rs 148.72 crore) have already achieved this feat. And last year, Dishoom also came close to doing it. But it is Badrinath Ki Dulhania which gave given him his third 100-crore film. And with that, he is the only next-gen star to have three films that have entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club. With this, Varun Dhawan has surely established himself as a bankable star. As trade expert, Akshaye Rathi, had revealed to us earlier, “Varun Dhawan has totally established himself as a bankable star with Badrinath Ki Dulhania. If you look at most of the actors, then you will realise that most of them have virtually wasted their entire career trying to prove that they can act. But the job of a star is not to act, his job is to get tickets sold at the box office. And Varun is someone who has time and again, before the release of every film, kept saying that ‘I just want to entertain.’ That is a star’s job. Only if you can do that, only if you can play to galleries, only if you can work for the entertainment of the paying public, will you succeed like this. And Varun has his sensibilities, has his intentions right, which is what makes him the bankable star that he is!
