Jai Gangaajal box office collection: Priyanka Chopra's cop drama mints only Rs. 5.50 crs on opening day!

Being the second female centric film of this year, Priyanka Chopra‘s Jai Gangaajal seems to be having a slow start. Chopra, who is currently overseas shooting for her US television show, Quantico. Now, it is a known fact that the actress’ popularity and enigma is a raved topic worldwide. From being a small time girl to making her fame reach internationally is very commendable. Everybody’s new favourite is Priyanka, be it filmmakers or be it the audience. Everybody wants to see more and more of the actress. However, that doesn’t seem the case with respect to her film, Jai Gangaajal.

The movie had a terrible opening, especially since the film didn’t have any competition at the box office. Turns out, the film opened in about 2600 multiplexes yesterday. However, the occupancy rate was only 15 percent. This is definitely not going to make PeeCee happy. Most of the money that the film has raked comes only from the Northern states of the country. The film, though, has managed to surpass Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja’s first day collections at the box office which stood at 4.70 crs. The Prakash Jha film has also received a mixed review where while the critics have been a little harsh to the film, the audience seems to be enjoying this cop drama.
