The star has always entertained us with his films…
John Abraham is one of the most accomplished action heroes of Bollywood. The hunk made his debut in 2003 with Jism and has grown from strength to strength. The sexy actor has 13 hits in his kitty. John has made us laugh with films like Housefull 2 and Desi Boyz, introspect through the riveting Madras Cafe and entertained through potboilers like Race 2, Shootout at Wadala and many more. The actor has evolved over the years and is now considered as one of the bankable actors in the industry. Last year, he was seen in Anees Bazmee’s action thriller, Welcome Back. He has various films lined up for release this year, including the upcoming action thriller – Rocky Handsome.
Talking about John and his growth over the years, Editor of Super Cinema and trade analyst, Amul Mohan reveals, “Nobody gives him much of a chance, he was always a good looker, but not a performer. Well, that’s what everybody thought. Now, he is one of the top-most stars of the country and has a great fan following. John has done a lot of films and has grown with experience. He found his niche couple of years ago when he did Force. That was a very good film for him to do because of the action quotient. The action hero bracket which was vacant for a very long time was filled by John. But, he did not follow up with another action film immediately. He is now coming up with Rocky Handsome which is in a similar space, so it is great. People like to see him doing action and being physically involved in a film. However, he also does films like Madras Cafe, which are performance oriented ones, but I think people want to see him do more action.”
Exhibitor and distributor, Akshaye Rathi adds, “If you look at his career graph right from the time he started till date, he has quite literally evolved from being a model on the silver screen to an actor. It is his choice of films both as an actor and producer that has made people sit up and take notice. He is the guy who made Vicky Donor, which was hugely successful, he is the guy who made Madras Cafe. It did not just earn money but a helluva lot of critical acclaim as well. Now, he has made Rocky Handsome. So, the kind of films he is making and the way his career graph is going, he has surely come a long way from the time he started. He is beginning to become a fairly bankable actor too, subject to the film being made on a tight budget.”
So, John has been one of the top Bollywood stars. So, before his latest film – Rocky Handsome hits the theatres, we decided to look at his 7 biggest hits till date:

Force was one of the most crucial films in John’s career. The action thriller, directed by Nishikant Kamat and starring Genelia D’Souza, was the film after which John found his place in the industry.
