Despite Fitoor's failure Katrina Kaif will be back with a bang!

Katrina Kaif was at the top of her game a few years back. Everyone wanted to work with her. In fact, she was even called the lucky charm of the industry. But a few lacklustre films later, everyone started questioning her stand in the industry. It didn’t help her case either when her peers like Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma galloped ahead. But those who think Phantom and Fitoor‘s slow performance will mire her fate, you are heavily mistaken. Our Trade Analyst Amul Vikas Mohan, who is also the Editor of Super Cinema, feels she will be back with a bang!

Katrina may be down but she is not out at all. Mohan says, “Two years ago, she was the top most actress in the industry. Yes, Deepika, Anushka and Priyanka Chopra gained proper ground and have overtaken her also in certain cases. But I still feel that she is a big star and whatever she does, it will always be noticed. Her fans’ loyalty towards her haven’t deteriorated in any way. Obviously, it has hurt her in terms of her normal standing. But having said that, these kind of things don’t really hurt them. She is a well established star. Tomorrow, if there is a movie with Katrina in it, it will get noticed and people will talk about it. She can overcome this because Jagga Jasoos is a big film and I also feel strongly about Baar Baar Dekho. It’s a different rom com and has an element of sci-fi.” He would wait for the trailer to do the talking as no one really knows what future has in store.

When asked why does he think Deepika and others marched ahead compared to Katrina, Mohan explains, “She did Dhoom 3 two years ago. Since then she didn’t have a massive release. Others have taken over as Deepika obviously had two great years back to back. Anushka is doing good films and is part of big films like Sultan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. All this somewhere come in the periphery of female stars. For whatever its worth or however silly it may sound, the shelf life of an actress in India is very little. Keeping that in mind, Katrina has definitely lost some ground with other stepping up their game. Now it’s upto her how she takes it and comes back from this.”
