Beyhadh starts with Arjun(Kushal Tandon) waking up to the truth that Maya(Jennifer Winget) has been murdered and she lies there motionless as he looks on. The inspector accuses him of brutally killing his wife and Arjun can only stare at the dead body and also thinks of how Maya had once told him that her love would be a noose around his neck which would become his death noose if he went away and a chain if he remained with her. Arjun remembers how everything Maya ever said now made perfect sense. Jahnvi(Kavita Ghai) is brought out on a wheelchair and she gets scared seeing Maya, she rings her buzzer and tries to go near the body but the police take her away. Arjun tries to say he did not do it but all the circumstantial evidence is against him. Saanjh (Aneri Vajani) and Ayaan (Sumit Bhardhwaj) arrive there and they say this is not true. Soon a neighbor barges in and slaps Arjun, she says from past 4years she has been friends with Maya and she lived in the same building. She also speaks of having met Maya that night and she says Maya was very scared of Arjun she had said that because she could not take care of their child Arjun would kill her.
The neighbour blames Arjun of constantly beating Maya and also says for Arjun Maya was just a medium to obtain an child. She also says she watched from her balcony last night and saw Arjun beating Maya up and she just thought it would not be right to interfere between a husband and wife so she did not come down. She promises to record her statement and also promises to give Maya justice. Soon another witness barges in-this is the watchman of the building who tells the officers that Maya had come down and asked him to not let anyone come to her house not even Arjun, he tells the officers Maya looked very scared. He goes on to say that soon after Arjun had barged in and when he stopped him, Arjun had broken his hand and gone in. Arjun looks on confused and not saying a word. The neighbour when questioned by Saanjh tells her she has seen Saanjh with Arjun and knows about their relationship. Arjun is taken away by the police as tehy get further proof -as they get Arjun’s passport and a new SIM card with some ornaments and cash too. Maya’s body is examined and it revealed bad injuries all over her body and the doctor states that she was badly beaten up and also she was strangled. Arjun is questioned by the media of having killed his own wife. Arjun keeps mum to all the questions. Saanjh and Ayaan try to convince the police that he is being framed and Maya cannot be murdered. The police ask him who would try to frame Arjun. The media asks Saanjh if she would defend Arjun like she defended Ayaan. Saanjh says Ayaan never raped Maya but the media refuses to believe her. Ayaan tries to convince the police that when Maya can frame him for trying to rape her she can also do this to Arjun. He says Maya has just begun the game. Arjun gets flashes of the night and he sees himself slapping Maya and pushing her around. He finally breaks down as he realises this is the truth, he confesses to have killed Maya even as Saanjh stops him from saying anything. Arjun says Maya drove him to this and now she has destroyed his life completely. The media record his confession.
Precap: Arjun tells Saanjh that he did not want to kill her as he had promised to Saanjh but she kept recounting everything she ever did and then he does not remember what he did. Saanjh feels there is something in the thing that Maya instigated him to kill her.
