Devasena is being tended by her aides while she is deep in thoughts, thinking about her enemies and whether she will come to terms with one of them. On the other hand, Jaldev has found a way to reach the princess’ room. He cleverly tricks the gardener’ wife into believing that perhaps he might have a thing with one of the daasis. Therefore, she forbids him to go to the palace with the flowers that he dutifully does on a regular basis. After having reached outside Devasena’s room, Jaldev knocks on the door. Her aide walks out and Jaldev introduces himself as the man who has brought the best flowers for the princess. As she takes a whiff of the flowers, she faints. He enters the room and right then, the knot of Devasena’s blouse comes off, exposing her back. Expecting her help, the princess asks him to tie it back.
However, little does she know that it’s Jaldev who has entered her chambers and not her help. As she turns to face the intruder, he walks up to her, does a little stunt and designs an all new outfit for her, with his dagger! He expects her to take a whiff of his drugged flowers so she would collapse and it would be easier to kill her. Things don’t go as planned. Devasena throws away the flower and instead calls out guards to lock him up. She further states that she will take him to Queen Sambhavija, who will decide what to do with him. While Devasena is leading a captured Jaldev to the courtroom, he is distracted by her beauty as he looks at her intently.
As he is presented in front of the Queen, Devasena presents her case that he entered her room. Therefore, Sambhavija sentences him to death and tells the princess herself to kill the man. Just as she approaches Jaldev with her dagger, he combats and takes away the dagger from her. Instead, he kills all the soldiers around them, who march towards him. Turns out they are the soldiers of Queen Shayala. After seeing his bravery, an elated Queen buys him off from the gardener and pays him a hefty sum. She further makes him responsible for the security of the royals. So while Sambhavija is happy to see his bravery, Devasena is unable to accept that this man is just a slave. She even contemplates that perhaps he is the man Hahuma has spoken of.
While Sambhavija asks the preparations for Devasena’s engagement with Mahisha to begin, at Queen Shayala’s kingdom, the bad news that all the soldiers sent have been killed is announced by a help. Meanwhile, Devasena goes for a bath, thinking about Jaldev and the moment they share in her room. But her train of thought is soon interrupted by her sister Meghala, who is smitten by Jaldev, ever since his brave act in the courtroom. She talks about his wit and courage while Devasena decides that she must find out more about him. Despite trying to focus on his mission, Jaldev seems constantly distracted by Devasena’s beauty and vigour. At Queen Shayala’s palace, she is seen thinking about King Silamban and how she should’ve been his queen. She reminisces how they were in love and that they were even about to get married but things didn’t work out because of Sambhavija.
Mahisha’s main aim to pretend to get married to Devasena is so he can kidnap Silamban at the right opportunity. It is revealed that Mahisha is the one who set the throne on fire. Devasena is trying to snoop more information on Jaldev’s background while he too is finding ways to lure Devasena and achieve his mission. Meanwhile Meghala is trying to get Jaldev’s attention. However, he seems more interested in his mission and Devasena. On the other hand, Devasena misunderstands Jaldev to be the one with fire as his power.
