Shruti Haasan’s Sanghamithra plot REVEALED!

This Cannes 2017, Shruti Haasan will make her grand debut thanks to her next project – Sanghamitra. Sanghamitra was the first mega budget film to be annouced after Baahubali Part 1. This mega budget will be helmed by PC Sundar. The film will be bank rolled by Sri Thenandal Films. This highly ambitious project will be launch on the first night of Cannes. Shruti Haasan, Jayam Ravi, Arya, product designer Sabu Cyril who has joined this film post Baahubali will be present. While nothing about the plot had been revealed before, the synopsis of Sanghamitra as part of Cannes press release is now out! Here’s what the plot line reads as:

Sanghamitra is a tale which goes back to 8th century AD. telling the trials and tribulations of the protagonist Sanghamithra, whose beauty is unparalleled and her journey to save the kingdom. It’s the story of many kingdoms, many equations, many relationships told in an ambitious, larger than life, visually extravagant manner. Sanghamithra is aimed at the being the crown jewel of Tamil films, an ode to the oldest language in the world. While this is a piece of fiction, there are unexplored chapters in India’s ancient History whichc will be opened through Sanghamitra in the most visually beautiful manner. A few things are clear from this – Shruti Haasan will not only play a warrior but also a queen or princess as she has a kingdom to protect. This is not based on a true story but on events set in history. Like Baahubali, this movie will also be out in two parts.

Shruti Haasan has already started prepping for this role. She had taken to sword fighitng and is also learning horse riding. Jayam Rvai and Arya are also prepping for their roles. On launching the film at Cannes, PC Sundar, director said, “It’s an honour to be unveiling Sanghamitra at the prestigious Cannes film festival with my producers Thenandal Studios and my entire cast – Ravi, Arya and Shruti. I am very happy that Sabu (Cyril) sir will also be joining us. This is the most challenging & special project in my career.”
