Tamannaah Bhatia confirms the Tamil remake of Kangana Ranaut’s Queen is not happening

One of Kangana Ranaut‘s performances came in the 2014 film Queen, which won her a National Award, as well as a slew of other awards. The movie was the sleeper hit of the year, and there were plans to remake the movie in other languages, notably Tamil, where Baahubali actress Tamannaah Bhatia was supposed to get into Kangana Ranaut‘s shoes. However, there has been no news of the development of the remake and the actress has been busy shooting for SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus. And by the looks of it, the remake has been shelved, with Tamannaah herself confirming the news in a recent interview.

Speaking about the movie’s abandoned plans to Mid-Day, Tamannaah said, “We were supposed to do that film, but it’s not happening anymore. The reason is unknown to me, but I know it’s shelved.” She also spoke about how Baahubali brought in a fresh lease of life to her career. “This film happened to me after I went through a lean phase in my career with films like Himmatwala, Humshakals, and Entertainment. So, I think my reality is way better than my imagination, but I still hope that many more Baahubalis happen in my life.”

Queen was about an Indian bride-to-be who goes on Paris on a solo honeymoon after her groom ditched her. She gets new experiences there, that develops her personality and makes her take extremely bold decisions in her life later on. The movie was directed by Vikas Bahl, who is now in the eye of a controversy after certain allegations of sexual harassment were leveled against him.

Meanwhile, Baahubali 2 aka Baahubali: The Conclusion is scheduled to release on April 28. The movie also stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Sharma.
