Jab they met

Aishwarya and Abhishek have done a lot of films together since Dhai Akshar Prem Ke. But cupid didn’t strike on the sets of any of these movies. Strange right? You spend so many hours together and yet, nothing happens apart from your friendship getting stronger with every film. But it was while shooting the Kajra Re song for Bunty Aur Babli, that sparks flew. They started dating post that and Abhishek popped the question when they were in NY at the premiere of Guru. In fact, in one of the interviews, Abhishek had said, “I was filming in New York for a movie. And, I used to stand on the balcony of my hotel room and wish that, ‘One day, wouldn’t it be nice if I was together with her, married. Years later, we were there for the premiere of Guru. After the premiere, we were back in the hotel. So, I took her to the very same balcony, and I asked her to marry me.” AWW!

Marry me, please!

The proposal was very filmi. Abhishek proposed to her apparently with a set prop which Aishwarya explained as, “He is original and real, like our relationship. There is nothing predictable or boring about our life. We nurture each other. The gesture was spontaneous and meaningful. God has been kind to us. We can certainly afford those standard rocks. But do we need them?” It was a momentous event and so, they returned to Mumbai and got formally engaged in 2007. April 20 the same year, the couple tied the knot in a family and close friends-only event which did set a few tongues wagging. But that day it’s all about the bride and groom, and not about anybody else.

Baby time

Ever since Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan tied the knot, all people wanted to know was when are they planning a family. Every other day people would speak about spotting a baby bump. But the couple took their sweet time to extend their family and when they did, they were blessed with beautiful girl called Aaradhya. She is the apple of the Bachchans’ eyes!

The Bachchans are surely a couple we would all want to be. They are an inspiration and on their wedding anniversary today, we would like to wish them many more years of bliss and happiness! Happy anniversary, guys!
