The IIFA Utsavam Awards was introduced last year with the aim of acknowledging the contribution of 4 vast industries – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada to South Indian Cinema. The intention was to celebrate these 4 industries as one entity. After a successful debut last year, the Utsavam Awards have returned. As per reports on Firstpost, it will be a 2 day function held in Hyderabad on 28th March and 29th March. On the first day, The Tamil and Malayalam industry will be felicitated. The show will reportedly be hosted by Rana Daggubati, Pearle Maaney, Tini Tom. The second show will felicitate the Kannada and Telugu industry and will be hosted by Rana Daggubati, Nani and two others. The grand function will also see performances by Akshara Haasan, Amrya Dastur, Hansika Motwnai and Akhil Akkineni, Raai Lakshmi, Pragya Jaiswal, Jiiva. “IIFA Utsavam is a unique endeavour that raises South Indian cinema to a global platform. I am excited to host the IIFA Utsavam 2017 in Hyderabad and share the stage with some of the most successful actors and technicians from our film industry.” stated Rana Daggubati at a recent press conference as per reports on Firstpost.
Rana Daggubati rocked the casual look in his semi formal trousers and black formal shirt. Gone is the beefy, bulky BhallalaDeva, standing before us is a leaner looking Rana Daggubati. Raai Lakshmi’s drastic weight loss for Julie 2 is also apparent form the pictures. She made a pretty sight in dull green maxi gown. We didn’t quite take to Pragya Jaiswal’s pre-event look for IIFA. Nani, Akshara Haasan were also present at the inauguration function.
