SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali to be screened at the 69th Cannes Film Festival!

The Prabhas starrer adds another feather in its cap

Baahubali is a movie that is still bringing a lot of glory to India even after an year of its release. It was screened at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival earlier this year. Now, the SS Rajamouli epic has bagged an even bigger honour.

Baahubali is all set to be screened at the Cannes film festival this year. The movie team will join the gala on May 16. Other than the screening, the director, SS Rajamouli and producer Shobu Yarlagadda will also be leading a panel discussion. This discussion will be based on virtual reality at an event called Marché du Film, which takes place alongside Cannes. The panel discussion will also be graced by head of AMD Radeon. It will be about how a filmmaker can use VFX and VR to create new and amazing experiences.

After the meet takes place, the magnum opus will be screened at Palais K at the Marché Du Film venue in Cannes. It is truly a very proud moment for Indian cinema, particularly Tollywood. Baahubali is perhaps the first Telugu film to receive such accolades. Back in January, the SS Rajamouli film had also won the 63rd National Award for the Best Feature Film and Best Special Effects.

Even as the first film is basking in its glory, the work on the sequel Baahubali: The Conclusion is progressing at a brisk pace and is scheduled to release on April 14, 2017. Stay tuned as we update you on the journey of the Baahubali team in Cannes.
