Mallika Sherawat has made a dazzling entry at the Cannes red carpet this year…

Mallika Sherawat’s appearances at Cannes have always been talked about, simply coz of her bold sometimes explosive choices! From wearing a snake around her neck while promoting Hiss to her debut appearance in 2005 on the Cannes red carpet in an itsy-bitsy lehenga, this actress has done it all.

This year though, she chose to play it safe as she went for a classic Georges Hobeika gown which made her look pretty but had nothing special to offer. While we miss our wild Mallika, here’s looking at her previous appearances at the French red carpet that prove that this lady has done it all and dared to do things fashionistas would shy away from! This was Mallika Sherawat’s debut appearance in 2005. Here, she wanted to reinstate her ‘sex goddess’ image as she strutted around blowing kissing to the paparazzi in a revealing white lehenga. She made it a point that she will not wear a gown and chose this creation instead to be a showstopper of a different kind!

One of her BOLDEST appearances, Mallika had donned this almost nude gown by a Pari based designer, Ali Mahdavi in 2012. This dress is held together by a string and has an ultra deep back with a plunging neckline! Look out at that Amy Winehouse style eyes and a bouffant that Mallika chose to complete her look!

Mallika in her 2014 Cannes appearance chose to stay clear of outrageous skin show and instead made a SWEEPING entry on the red carpet, twisting and turning in her sheer white Emilio Pucci gown.

In one of her appearances in 2012, Mallika went a bit sober with this gown with a hood by Ali Mahdavi. Her classic hair and make up really worked we think!

Again a 2014 appearance, Mallika strutted at Cannes in this Emilio Pucci lace gown. Though quite a sober number, she did not impress the Fashionistas as they questioned her choice if it was indeed ‘Cannes worthy’.

One of her most criticised appearances on the red carpet, Mallika strutted in this beaded-lace see-through Eric Tibusch gown in 2011 and made fashion police frown, But hey, look at her confidence.

One can safely say that Mallika painted a picture of elegance and chic beauty with his Georges Hobeika creation last year. Her soft waves and beautiful Boucheron jewellery made her look stunning.
