The celeb quotient is fine but where’s the humour!
With the increasing competition between comedy shows, making people laugh has become serious business. We don’t know if that is the reason behind such shows losing their original goofy content. Today’s episode of Comedy Nights Live had Ragini Khanna, Shakeel and Usha Nadkarni. These three artistes are known for their timing. However, today all the gags fell flat. Krushna Abhishek made an entry as Tulsi, the typical bahu of Indian soaps.
What was highly annoying was the presence of Siddharth Saudagar in the repetitive character of Mangala. It looks like he’s doing only one thing episode after episode. Today he was given the task of evoking humour with a throaty laugh. He was at it and we did not know what to laugh about. The two lines that really made the audience laugh was related to potty. It seems like the bathroom has become the final recourse of everyone.
Now, a pat on the back for Sunny Leone. The lady looked gorgeous in red and genuinely tried to look interested. We loved the enthusiasm with which she danced, mouthed lines in Gujarati and interacted with the comedians. Co-star Tanuj Virwani and singer Jasmine Sandlas were also there. They were promoting One Night Stand.
Mika, who never fails to entertain crooned a few lines of Laila from Shootout At Wadala for the sultry siren. We sincerely wonder for how long singers and actors will try to salvage comedy shows with their presence?
