The film is going slow…
Emraan Hashmi‘s portrayal of ex-Indian Cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin has been garnering a lot of applause. Everyone who has watched the film is talking about how his look completely resembled the cricketer. But despite all that, the film is finding it difficult to post good numbers. The first day numbers were decent with 6. 30 cr but given the fact the film has made only 7 cr on Saturday, it is clear that it is struggling to maintain momentum at the box office.
Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures saying, “#Azhar has 11.11% growth on Sat… Fri 6.30 cr, Sat 7 cr. Total: ₹ 13.30 cr. India biz… Biz must grow manifold on Sun for a decent total.” It’s clear that the figures need to take a good hike or the opening weekend won’t look good for the film. If we go by the reviews, Azhar‘s one-sided story dampened its chances. It was supposed to bring out the truth but all it did was to show how the ex-captain was wronged and maligned. Guess the execution made the film less interesting.
Check out the tweet once more.
