The film posted decent opening day figures…
The intention behind making a film on ex-Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin was to tell the world the truth behind the stories we have read in newspapers. It was meant for us to know what he felt when he got embroiled in the match fixing controversy. But if we go by the reviews, it seems like a redemption attempt by the cricketer through a film named Azhar. Critics were a bit divided on how they felt about the film. Guess that impacted the first day collection of the film a bit. On day 1, the film made 6.30 cr.
Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Azhar Fri ₹ 6.30 cr. India biz… Sat and Sun biz crucial to post a healthy weekend total.” As he mentioned, the film has to put up good numbers today and tomorrow, to close the opening weekend on a high. It has been seen that Saturdays and Sundays have added more moolah to a film tally since they are holidays. People opt to go to cinemas to chill over the weekend and that favours the film. Emraan Hashmi‘s portrayal of the ex Indian cricket captain has earned a lot of applause which could turn the tide for the film.
Check out the tweet once more.
