It’s scary to read papers these days. Nothing other than loot, arrests, protests, fights, murders and rapes are all that’re filled on the front page of our newspapers!

Unless, the Indian cricket team manages to defeat Pakistan in a cricket match, you will be hard pressed to find one good news in the front page! We are so accustomed to read negativity the first thing in the morning, that we tend to be very sceptic about anything good that happens to us or anyone else in general!

But you can’t blame the newspapers fully. Our country is having so many burning issues that they needs to be covered in some way or the other. The recent JNU protests, the arrest of Kanhaiya and the later beating up of him by the lawyers near the High Court and subsequent bail were ruling the headlines. Then, there were these agitations in North India by the Jats for reservation in the OBC category that lead to widespread destruction of property, and even loss of lives. There was also a very shocking report of women getting gangraped under the cover of these riots. Come on, where the hell is this country going?

We either blame the ruling party and the ruling party put the blame on the opposition for sensationalising things more than what it is in reality, while also trying to remind us that things were not so great when the other party was ruling the country. Whatever it is, whoever is to be blamed, the end result is, it’s we who have to ultimately suffer.
