John Abraham's Rocky Handsome WON'T get affected by Batman V Superman: The Dawn Of Justice!

Box office clashes are very exciting to look forward to, however they tend to hinder the businesses of each other. This Friday also we have two big films clashing at the BO. While one is a Bollywood massy, action film – Rocky Handsome, the other is a super hero Hollywood thriller – Batman V Superman: The Dawn Of Justice. With two huge films set to clash at the Indian box office, we thought they would affect each other’s numbers drastically. However, our trade expert feels otherwise.

Trade exhibitor and distributor, Akshaye Rathi revealed, “No, I don’t think Rocky Handsome will be affected by Batman V Superman: The Dawn Of Justice. Both the films have different audiences and you have to understand that the Batman series is only popular in the Metropolitan cities and not pan-India. The Spiderman and Matrix franchises are popular across India and not the Batman series. On the contrary, Rocky Handsome is a massy film with with a pan-India appeal. So, I am sure both the films will do well.”

Talking about the division of screen space, Akshaye added, “I guess Batman V Superman: The Dawn Of Justice will release in 1100-1250 screens, while Rocky Handsome will be released in 2000-2250 screens in India. Any Hollywood film which releases in India, through any studio – be it Warner Bros, Fox Star or Disney, they release only in screens having the higher quality 2K projector. And with most of the single screen theatres not having that projector, they get eliminated from the list of screens showcasing the film.”
