Gautam Gulati: I studied Ravi Shastri a lot for Azhar!

Gautam Gulati has been a part of many serials including Diya Aur Baati Hum and Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani, but he became a household name only after winning Bigg Boss 8. Many people suggested he join Bollywood, but he was waiting for the perfect opportunity. And it seems like the time has come to showcase his talent on the silver screen.

While we all knew Gautam Gulati had signed for Azhar and that he would be playing Ravi Shastri’s role, nothing more was known. Several questions arose – Would he get the same look like Ravi Shastri or how would his role pan out? However, today all the answers were there to see. The first look of Gautam Gulati from Azhar was released and he looked fabulous. And yes, he looks very similar to Ravi Shastri. In the first look, we see him commentating as well as fielding on the ground.

So Ravi Shastri’s two different phases will be shown in Azhar. But after seeing the first look and being blown away by it, we wanted to know more. That’s when we decided to get in touch with Gautam Gulati. When we asked him about his excitement on debuting in Bollywood, Gautam revealed, “I am very excited for Azhar. I have really worked hard for the film and I am waiting for the film now. People actually wanted to see me in a film since a long time, but coz I wanted to debut with a big banner film, I didn’t do any film that came my way. I thought I”l work with a good banner and people will get to see me soon now. And I am happy about that and excited.”

We then asked him if he interacted with Ravi Shastri to know more about his looks, style of play and walk, to which Gautam replied, “I never got to speak to Ravi Shastri, but I worked on each and every aspect of him. I have seen all his interviews what he does, what he doesn’t, I know everything about each match of his, so I studied a lot about him.”
