The Disney film will release a week before it will be out in US
Disney’s The Jungle Book has already created a sensation with its trailers and we simply can’t wait for it to release ASAP! Not only does it promise to be a treat for the kiddies but it sure is intriguing to gain an adult’s interest as well! The fact that it’s Mowgli’s story will definitely tread us down the memory lane and with the promising action, could we have asked for more? However, there was news that The Jungle Book was to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited film, Fan! Now post the Fan Anthem that took place yesterday and with the huge fanbase that SRK has, this clash would’ve been historic! That’s not gonna happen anymore!
Yes. Disney just announced that it will be releasing The Jungle Book a week prior from it’s earlier release date. It was supposed to release with SRK’s Fan on 15th April. However, now the film will be releasing a week before, i.e. on 8th April instead. In fact, the film is actually releasing in India before US! Now would you believe that! Vice President of Disney India, Amrita Pandey even quoted saying, “We are thrilled to confirm that Disney’s all-new live-action epic, ‘The Jungle Book’, will be out in Indian theatres a week prior to the US release. We have a few more surprises in store for ‘The Jungle Book’ fans in India.” Well, this clearly is a big surprise but is it possible that over fear of SRK’s Fan overtaking the business, the makers decided to release it a week prior?
Similar thing even happened with Star Wars: The Force Awakens if you remember that was about to clash with Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale but changed the release date and hit the theatres on Christmas! This is slightly fishy and we’re super curious as to why the film is releasing in India even before releasing in US. Starring 12 year old Indian-American, Neel Sethi, The Jungle Book has been sourced with some of the best Hollywood actors’ voices like Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba and Christopher Walken. The film also has worldclass photorealistic CGI animals and intriguing action set to set the screens ablaze on 8th April!
So BollywoodLifers tell us, do you think over fear of competing with King Khan, the makers of The Jungle Book decided to release it prior a week so they dominate the box office? Tell us in the comments section below!
