The Rajinimurugan star turns 31

Sivakarthikeyan has become a household name today all across Tamil Nadu. He is one of the fastest growing stars in K-town today and his fan base is just exploding. But it was not like this always. The actor actually had a really humble beginning and his rise to stardom took several years. So on his special day, let’s take a look at Siva’s journey from a normal man to a star.

Sivakarthikeyan started out doing mimicry and stand up comedy in college. His friends were mighty impressed and urged him to join Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru, a talent show, which he went on to win. After the initial success, he participated in several dance reality shows like Jodi No 1, season 3. He didn’t succeed a lot there but got a big break in the form of hosting shows. The Rajinimurugan star became well known after hosting a season of Airtel Super Singer, where he wooed the audience with his funny antics.

The actor entered the cine world all of a sudden, as he was given two offers almost at the same time. One was a supporting role in Dhanush and Shruti Haasan starrer 3, where his comic relief as a school student became a major highlight of the movie. As a full fledged hero, his first film was Marina, which was critically appreciated but did not get him any accolades. Director Pandiraj, who launched him as a hero in Marina, signed him again in Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga along with actor Vimal. KBKR was his first genuine hit.

After his success in 2013, there was no looking back for Sivakarthikeyan. He gave hits after hits with Ethir Neechal, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Maan Karate, Kakki Sattai and finally Rajinimurugan.
