As Salman Khan shoots for his next action film Tiger Zinda Hai in Morocco, we are here celebrating his previous hit action thriller Kick. The movie released three years ago today, and was a big hit. It starred our favourite superstar as a masked vigilante, who gets a ‘kick’ out of helping people. The narrative was engaging, and had fans at the edge of their seats. Randeep Hooda was at loggerheads with Salman in the film, and Jacqueline Fernandez was seen romancing him.
Kick gave us many memorable dialgues – “Duniya devil ke piche, devil aapke piche. Too much fun” or my personal favourite ” Mere baare mein itna mat soch. Dil mein aata hoon samajh mein nahi”. We knew one thing for sure that Salman and cool ass dialogues go extremely well together. It also gave us hit songs like Jumme Ki Raat and Yaar Na Miley – songs we won’t think twice before dancing to even today. The songs of the movie were iconic as we heard Salman, himself, singing Hangover.
The action sequences in the film set a benchmark. The before CGI vs after CGI video went viral as soon as it was released. Remember the iconic scene where Salman ditches a bicycle in front of a moving train, and walks away unhurt? The whole scene was, thankfully, a CGI. We bet a few of ardent fans of Salman thought that the actor did the stunt for real.
Now that we are getting a sequel of Ek Tha Tiger, we can happily hope that we get a sequel of Kick as well. Last year, producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala had said that they are working on the script of the second installment of Salman Khan-starrer and it will roll out in 2017. Though there has been no development about it, since then. We are still hoping.
Here is what the fans are saying about ‘3 years of Kick’:
